What is LIC AAO?

LIC (Life Insurance Corporation) is the biggest life insurance company in India. LIC has a very large customer base and offices around all the major cities in India. LIC receives a huge jump in it’s customers every year so they need a huge team of skilled employees to handle their work. LIC recruits many officers every year through AAO (Assistant Administrative Officer) examination.

LIC is going to release the date of AAO 2021 Examination very soon. However, Its not clear yet that are they going to merge the vacancies of 2020 and 2021 or separate applications are required as LIC 2020 AAO examination. The assistant administrative officer is one of the most significant position in the organisation and it’s prelims examination was scheduled last year in April but due to Covid -19 it was postponed.

A large number of people try hard to clear this examination because this is a government job with decent salary and allowances. LIC will have to increase the number of examination centers as this year the number of candidates will be slightly higher than previous examinations because most of the candidates who were registered in 2020 will also appear this year.

What is the eligibility criteria for LIC AAO exam?

There are certain requirements to become eligible for this exams. A candidate has to ensure that he or she is meeting all the requirements otherwise they won’t be allowed give exam. Basic educational requirements for different AAO posts are as follows:-

▪︎AAO (Generalist): A minimum graduation defree is required in any discipline from a recognized university.

▪︎AAO (IT): Candidates with MCA, Msc(computer science), Engineering degree in computer science or electronics are eligible for this position.

▪︎AAO (Chartered Accountant): Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in commerce and should have cleared the final CA examination which is conducted by the ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants Of India).

▪︎AAO (Actuarial): Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. In addition, they should have to clear CT1 and CT5 tests along with atleast 4 other examinations conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India or Institute and Faculty of Actuaries UK.

▪︎AAO (Rajbhasha): A Master’s Degree in Hindi translation with English as one of the subjects at UG level 

or

A Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as one of the major subjects at UG level

or

A Master’s Degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as major subjects at UG level.

What is the age limit for LIC AAO exams?

The candidates from the general category should have the age of minimum 21 years to 30 years maximum. However, there are some relaxations in the age limit for some reserved categories which are as follows: 

SC/ST : 5 Years

OBC : 3 Years

Person with Benchmark Disabilities(Gen):10 Years

Person with Benchmark Disabilities(SC/ST): 15 Years

Person with Benchmark Disabilities(OBC):13 Years

ECO/SSCO (GEN): 5 Years

ECO/SSCO (SC/ST) : 10 Years

ECO/SSCO (OBC) : 8 Years

Confirmed LIC employees : Further Relaxation of 5 Years
